Nippert Collection of German Methodism : Series 3 Personal Papers, 1779-1968 (bulk 1830-1955).

Series 3 contains the papers of individuals in German Methodism including: correspondence, biographical sketches, diaries, essays, pamphlets, ordination and naturalization papers, scrapbooks, poems and Sunday school musical programs. Most notable are William Nast, the founder of German Methodism and founder of the newspaper, Christliche Apologete, and his son, Albert Nast, who succeeded him as editor of the paper; Christian and Louise Golder, who founded the Bethesda Hospital and Deaconess Association in Cincinnati, Ohio and John A. Diekmann, who succeeded Christian Golder as president of the Association. Many other ministers, minister's wives, deaconesses, bishops, authors, editors, etc. are also represented.
